Nakia is a Stylist Educator with over 25 years of professional experience as a stylist in the Portland area. Known for her calm presence and technical skill, she specializes in low-maintenance looks, thick hair, pixie cuts, grey coverage and blending, natural reds, and corrective color. Her deep knowledge of these advanced services makes her a trusted mentor for both new and seasoned stylists.

A lifelong learner, Nakia has always been drawn to sharing what she knows. From her early days experimenting with bold colors in high school to her current role as an educator in the salon, she believes that great hairdressing—and great education—start with listening, empathy, and attention to detail. Her teaching approach is hands-on, supportive, and focused on building both skill and confidence in every stylist she works with.

Nakia is passionate about helping others grow, whether she's guiding someone through a complicated color correction or showing how to create a personalized client experience. She blends technical excellence with a people-first mindset, making her a valuable resource in both the salon and classroom.

Outside the salon, she’s a maker at heart—knitting, sewing, and cooking at home in Tigard with her family and two goofy cats.
