Zari is a New Talent. New Talents are licensed hairstylists who have completed at least the first half of our apprenticeship program. They only offer services for which they have been fully trained. 

Bio:

Zari (she/her) was born and raised in Shkodër, Albania, and moved to Florida as a tween. She’s fluent in Albanian and is always happy to teach you a few words along the way—Mirësevini!

Zari holds a BA in International Studies and has worked in the finance industry for over a decade. She moved to Portland in 2017 and has loved being part of the community ever since. After years in the corporate world, she finally decided to take the leap and pursue a career that felt more aligned with her creative side.

Zari attended Portland Beauty Academy in 2024 and earned her Hair Design License in 2025. She began her career behind the chair at a local salon before joining Ginger & Maude through its Apprenticeship Program, where she continues to elevate her craft and grow as a stylist.

Zari will tell you that her favorite form of self-care has always been going to the salon and experimenting with creative hairstyles. Her goal is to help every client achieve the hair of their dreams while making their experience fun, exciting, and uniquely theirs. She loves creating high-contrast looks, vivid and creative color placement, classic styles, and edgy cuts. She’s forever inspired by Tokyo fashion and hair.

When she’s not at the salon, you’ll find Zari spending lots of time with her soul dog, Amélie, a Boston Terrier, and her niece Siamese-tabby cat, Muna. She loves visiting museums and art galleries, thrifting, and exploring Portland’s ever-evolving coffee and food scene.
