Here’s a (not so) hot take: Life is BUSY!
We will never underestimate the power of clearing up some space in your schedule or of a hairstyle that supports those goals.
That’s why we’re all about a great haircut that will not only save you time in the morning, but will save you time in the long run as well. Today, Paige is recommending three haircuts that both:
-
are low-maintenance, meaning their upkeep schedule allows for more time to pass between salon visits, and
-
require minimal styling, meaning they are literal moments away from being the definition of “I woke up like this.”
Bixies
Why she loves them:
The bixie is a short style, so there’s less hair, meaning less work, but it’s also not a super tight pixie that’s going to be sticking out every which way when you wake up.
5-Minute Styling Tip:
If your hair is curly: Rewet in the morning, and spray with some HAIR.RESORT SPRAY to add some grit without the heaviness of a cream.
If your hair is straight: Skip rewetting and add a little BEDROOM.HAIR to style since it offers flexible hold.
Maintenance:
Every 8-10 weeks should be a good amount of time between haircut services.
Shags
Why she loves them:
All of the layers are going to lighten up the weight of your hair quite a bit, so if you have thick hair, that means easier washing and less product. For thinner hair, the layers are going to add volume. Also, shags tend to be pretty forgiving and low-maintenance when it comes to styling because they are intended to be purposely messy and lived-in, so it’s hard to have a bad hair day with one.
5-Minute Styling Tip:
If your hair is curly: Rewet, spray hair with ANTI.GRAVITY SPRAY to help hold the volume. Since a lot of shags are done with razors, which can fray the ends of curly hair a bit, adding a little YOUNG.AGAIN TREATMENT can help seal down that cuticle to retain moisture and hydration.
If your hair is straight: Add DOO.OVER or TOUCHABLE for flexible hold—it’ll really help define all the different layers in the haircut.
Maintenance:
Every 8-12 weeks is great.
Long Layers
Why she loves them:
Long layers add shape without having to style your hair every single day. You can pull it back if needed or scrunch and go for texture. There are just many possibilities that don’t require hours of styling time.
5-Minute Styling Tip:
If your hair is curly: Rewet with a spray bottle that has one part conditioner and two parts water, and add KILLER.WAVES for hold.
If your hair is straight: Add some DOO.OVER to refresh hair and add body.
Maintenance:
Every 12 weeks/quarterly.
