We talk a lot about talking, and for good reason! Effective communication is a huge part of getting your hair done in the salon (and feeling secure and understood during your service). That being said, we also understand that having a verbal exchange can present a barrier for folks who either primarily speak a language other than English or are deaf or hard of hearing. We are so grateful to have stylists like Kel—who is fluent in Spanish and conversational in American Sign Language (ASL)—as part of the Ginger & Maude Hair Salon team, because they allow us to offer safe, inclusive hair services to more community members who otherwise may not feel confident coming into the salon.
