If you’re looking for a bit more brightness in your hair without a high-maintenance upkeep schedule, a Balayage Color Service might just be your best friend.
Becca is telling us more about the service and what it involves.
Q: What is Balayage?
Balayage is a French term used to describe a lightening method that involves open-air (no foils are used), hand-painting of the hair! It’s used to create lived-in, low-maintenance looks!
Q: How is it different from other lightening services?
Most Balayage services use a clay lightener, which is often times gentler on the hair and dries out differently than traditional lighteners. The service creates much more subtle, soft looks.
Q: Why should clients know about it?
Balayage is great for someone looking for easy grow-out and more subtle looks. It can add so much dimension to your hair.
Q: What looks can be achieved with a Balayage service?
Sun-kissed is usually the best description for balayage! Depending on where we’re starting with your hair, you can get anywhere from a subtle dimensional shift in the hair to getting a good base to add other colors or brightness to the hair!
Q: What is the maintenance schedule like?
Oftentimes, people like to get their balayage touched up 2-3 times a year. It’s a very low-maintenance color service, so even if you’re wanting more touch-ups, I’d say once every 3 months is good!
Q: Who would be a good candidate for Balayage?
Best results are going to be on anyone with virgin hair looking for subtle, very lived-in looks. It’s also good for anyone who just wants a slight shift and some dimension in their current color!
Q: Who should hold off?
If you’re looking for cool-toned, icy looks or like to have dramatically lighter results, a more traditional highlight would probably be a better way to go for you!
