A: A gender-affirming hairstyle is really any hairstyle that makes you feel more aligned with yourself and your gender (or lack thereof). That could be keeping your hair really long or really short or somewhere in between; making you feel more masculine, or feminine, or both, or neither; something more soft and flowy or something with sharper lines and edges; maybe a style that confuses people; small face-framing details, baby bangs, or long curtain bangs; lots of layers or one length; shaved up on the sides or undercuts; something edgy and alternative or a more classic cut. Gender-affirming covers all kinds of haircuts, all kinds of styles. It's about what feels right and true to you.

A: We all deserve to feel more like ourselves. I have felt the dysphoria from a haircut that didn't align with how I saw myself, and I've felt the total joy from getting a cut that makes me feel radiant and more myself than ever! We want everyone to have the chance to feel that joy.
Hair is incredibly personal, and I want to leave a lot of space in my chair for anybody to meet them where they’re at and support them in their journey, whether they are transitioning or have already transitioned, whether they’re a cis person or a trans person, a queer person, however they identify, we can all use a little bit of support—getting heard and getting our feelings validated. I think it’s crucial that we be able to have that love and respect for ourselves and get the hair that matches our truest insides.
