Look, we’re gonna be real with you: We fucking love doing hair. We also fucking love this planet, and we dream of having the two exist harmoniously in a way they really never have before.
That’s why we partnered up with Green Circle Salons in 2018, becoming a Certified Sustainable salon brand able to recycle, recover, and repurpose dang near all the beauty waste created through our daily operations—up to 95%, if you want to get specific. As an added bonus, through this same partnership and their new Carbon Neutral Program, we’ve been Certified Carbon-Neutral since last year. It’s a pretty sweet deal, one that we’re incredibly proud to be a part of.
Something else we’re proud of?
Glad you asked. We just received our end-of-year totals, AND WE ARE FREAKING STOKED to announce that in 2022, across all our locations, we were able to divert around 1,366.5 total POUNDS of beauty waste from going into landfills. This included:
-281.5 pounds of color
-339 pounds of hair
-746 pounds of metal,
all of which have gone off to find new lives doing things like becoming hair booms for oil-spill cleanup, recycled metal for bikes, and clean water and energy. Dizzaaaamn. That’s a win.
We can’t wait to see what we’re able to do this year working with Green Circle Salons. Because doing what you love while protecting where you live is just the right thing to do. Period.
