What does "skincare for your hair" actually mean? Why does it matter?
Macie: "Skincare for your hair" means using the same technology, ingredients, and lightweight layering techniques found in premium facial skincare to treat your hair. KEVIN.MURPHY products utilize ingredients to treat the hair and scalp, prioritizing health, strength, and longevity over heavy, artificial coatings. Summer: “Skincare for your hair” means products that work on a foundational level for the hair. This means all the steps in your haircare routine are serving a purpose not only in the end style goal, but also improving the health and quality of your hair.
AbyGael: To me, it means treating your hair with the same care you’d give your skin. Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp, and using quality ingredients helps keep your hair strong, shiny, and feeling its best. I also love that saying because taking care of my hair is such a big part of my self-care routine, so “skincare for your hair” really resonates with me.

Why should folks want sulfate-free and paraben-free hair products?
Jennifer: Commonly used in shampoos, body washes, and household cleaners, sulfates are salts, which pull moisture out of the hair and can cause it to become dry and brittle or exacerbate frizz. They also aren’t color-safe.
Hanna: These ingredients, long-term, end up causing more issues like dryness and brittle hair. This can cause breakage and weak hair, making it hard to maintain hair length and density.
Macie: Folks choose sulfate-free and paraben-free hair products to protect their long-term hair and scalp health. Sulfates are harsh cleansers that strip natural oils, causing dryness and fading color. Parabens act as artificial preservatives and can be skin irritants.
Summer: The main reason we want to stay away from excessive sulfates/parabens is because they can dry out the hair and fade color faster. Especially in the summer, being out in the sun and potentially washing our hair more often can already contribute to both of those, so making sure your products are helping bring back as much moisture as possible is key.
